Colossians Chapter 1 has one of the most inspiring of prayers for christians to pray for each other. Paul tells the Colossians that he has heard of their love in the spirit. He then tells them of his prayers for them: Prayers we would all love to know that somebody was praying for us.

Collosians 1:9-14

" For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, we do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. So that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us in to the kingdom of his dear son: In whom we have redemtion through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins."

The prayers Paul prays in the above verses were clearly given to Him by God.  We can look at many parts of this prayer as a light post or spiritual Monument that we should all strive to reach and press on to be closer to our eternal country and farther from this fallen world.
